Welcome (Home page)

A brief personalised welcome message plus a couple of sentences introducing the site. These should include key words that can be linked to the sites main pages (see our ' Welcome' page)

(animation can be used to grab attention)

A reasonably large graphic or photograph to illustrate your business is useful, your shop, workshop, sign written vehicle or product etc.

Company Information

This page would contain information that would 'qualify' your business in the eyes of your customer (site viewer): How long in business, qualifications both formal and via experience, attitude to customer care and satisfaction, affiliation to trade bodies etc.

Products page

Information on the products you sell, what makes them better than the competition, special features, durability etc. Plenty of pictures needed to illustrate, plans, exploded diagrams will maintain interest. Details of any awards or safety standards. Applications for your product (if not obvious)

Services page

Basically WHAT you do, WHEN you do it, HOW the service is achieved and details of AFTER care offered. Set apart details are again vital, show how the service you offer is better than your competitors, we can offer help and advice on this if required.

News

Obviously to keep customers right up to date with your business if appropriate. A news page if properly maintained will keep customer coming back to your site.

FAQ's (Frequently asked questions)

If you currently answer the telephone to either new or existing clients you will probably be aware of 5-10 of these. If you ask these questions on this page and provide a concise answer to each, imagine the time saved when the person contacts you. Look on this page as a 'warm lead' generator.

Price list

An illustrated up to date price list properly set out is a vital page for some businesses and totally unnecessary for others. If you currently include price information in your other promotional material you probably need this page.

Useful links

This is another page that may encourage people to re-visit your site. You could include links to your suppliers or maybe other sites related to your product. i.e.. if you sell sporting equipment you could have links to local football and cricket teams etc. (they might provide a reciprocal link to you, that's an important way to get your site known)

Testimonials

Almost an extension to a Company Information page, a list of verifiable customer testimonials if a very powerful addition to any commercial web site. This type of information will re-assure prospective clients of your ability to fulfill their needs/budget etc.

Contact information

Mostly obvious, address, telephone number etc. But don't forget fax and mobile numbers the names of key people in your organisation with extension numbers, your hours of business, out of hours contact info. Maybe a map to show where you are, not forgetting your e-mail details.
